During the first two years of Mini production the were a myriad of detail design alterations depending on wheteher the car was an Austin or Morris, standard or deluxe. This design was used early on in Morris production. The seat faces are made of fleck material as is the rear of the squab cover. Otherwise, the surrounding materials are in various vinyls.

This design is unusual in that the seat faces have irregular sewn flutes with basically a pair of lines quite close together with a larger central panel, reminiscent of more vintage cars. A peculiarity of the early frame design is the extra piece of grey fleck material with a pirelli diaphragm strap sewn inside it. This covers up the rear of the seat base padding where the seat squab back finishes much higher than on the later cars.

We would suggest that you will need new foams/horse hair pads and seat straps to really finish the job perfectly.
