Cleaning & Inspection of Parts
Our process begins with an intensive cleaning of all major engine components. We use a combination of chemical dip, high-pressure spray wash system, abrasive cleaning, and final rinsing to flush all debris. Each component is meticulously inspected for wear, stress cracks, and damage, and measured for size, ovality, taper, and alignment. Any component not meeting specification or tolerances is discarded, ensuring only the best parts are used in your Mini.

Cylinder Head Remanufacturing
We clean the cylinder heads in an additional process to ensure all old carbon deposits are removed. We renew all valve guides, recut valve seats, examine all valves for damage, head thickness, stem wear, and replace or machine as necessary. We surface grind rocker and block faces to the correct tolerance, ensuring a perfect seal with the gaskets. We then paint the cylinder head in the colour of your choice using special high-temperature engine paint, and assemble it completely, ready for fitment.

Cylinder Block Remanufacturing
We pay close attention to every detail in the cylinder block remanufacturing process. From cleaning bolt and stud threads to replacing damaged threads, reboring and honing the cylinder blocks, and refacing all gasket surfaces, we ensure the highest quality results. We then fit new cam bearings, core plugs, and oil gallery plugs, and paint the block in the colour of your choice using special high-temperature engine paint.

Crankshaft Remanufacturing
Our crankshaft remanufacturing process includes crack testing, regrinding journals to the next undersize, and micro-finishing polishing to exact tolerances. We de-burr and thoroughly clean oil galleries, and dynamically balance each crankshaft to ensure smooth and efficient running.

Con-rod Remanufacturing
We measure all con-rod bearing housings for size, ovality, and taper, and discard any non-conforming items. Every con-rod is checked for alignment, weight graded into engine sets, and finally balanced to ensure optimal performance.
Camshaft Remanufacturing
Our camshaft remanufacturing process includes measuring for straightness and wear, and regrinding cam profiles to original valve timing/lift specifications. We then heat treat each camshaft by a nitrocarburising process, ensuring a long service life.
The Mini Sport 9 Step Process
1. Dismantle
Every engine and component is stripped, removing and discarding all gaskets, oil seals, bearings and pistons - ready for the next stage.
2. Cleaning
All major engine components undergo an intensive cleaning process which includes a chemical dip, high pressure spray wash system, abrasive cleaning and a final rinsing to flush all excess debris.
3. Inspection Of Parts
Following the cleaning process, parts are meticulously inspected for wear and damage. Parts are also measured for size, ovality, taper and alignment. Components that do not meet specification are replaced.
4. Cylinder Block Remanufacturing
Bolt & stud threads are cleaned. Damaged threads are replaced. Cylinder Blocks are then rebored and honed to give the essential cross hatch micro finish. All gasket surfaces are machine refaced
5. Crankshaft Remanufacturing
Crankshafts are crack tested, the journals are reground to the next undersize then micro-finish polished to exact tolerances. All surfaces are re-measured. oil galleries de-burred and cleaned.
6. Conrod Remanufacturing
All conrod bearing housings are measured for size, ovality and taper, non-confirming items are discarded. Every conrod is checked for alignment, weight graded into engine sets, then dynamically balanced.
7. Camshaft Remanufacturing
Measured for straightness & wear. Cam profiles are then reground to the original valve timing/lift specifications. Camshafts are finally heat treated by a nitrocarburising process for a longer service life. The journals can then be polished if required for finish.
8. Cylinder Head Remanufacturing
The cylinder heads are cleaned to ensure all carbon deposits are removed.Valve guides are renewed, valve seats are recut or replaced and examined. Cylinder heads are painted with high temperature engine paint.
9. Rocker Assembly
The complete rocker assembly is stripped, cleaned, checked and machined where necessary and then rebuilt using a new rocker shaft.
Final Assembly
Once all the machining work has been completed and passed, one of our skilled technicians assembles the engine using all new components selected for their durability and reliability. We adhere to all O.E torque settings during assembly, ensuring your remanufactured engine meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
