This is the castle nut which secures the Mini drum type drive flange - 21A231 - to the cv joint - GCV1105.
Fits all Minis with front drum brakes and 997/998 Cooper 7" disc brakes. Minis with 7.5" or 8.4" disc brake assemblies use a larger nut, BTA249.
When replacing this nut it is also recommended to renew the washer that sits behind it, 2A7323.
